Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt - Cont'd

All the blocks are ready to be sewn together.  How exciting!
And now for some close up shots of these darling 1930s reproduction fabrics...

After I sew all the blocks together, I will need to remove all the hexagon paper pieces by snipping away the basting stitches (as you can see in the photo above of the back of one of the blocks).  I have not picked out the backing for the quilt yet.  It's the thrill of the hunt finding fabric in fun shops!

Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt Progression

This photo is a little over exposed, but it shows the addition of the green hexagons.  Just about half way there for the piecing.

Time For Banana Bread

"Mom, will you bake some banana bread?", he asked while grimacing at the black spotted banana.

One More Rosette Needed

My little Longaberger basket goes with me pretty much everywhere I go.  Actually it is my daughter's.  Just borrowing it.  It's with me in the car, the dentist's waiting room, doctor's waiting room etc. - you get the idea.

After I finish the pink rosette, I only need to finish one more rosette.  Then I can add the green hexigons to the outer edges and start attaching the rosettes together.  It's coming together slowly but surely!
